January shows and production on next album begins!

Monday, January 9th, 2012

Hope you had an awesome New Year!!!!  So, we’ve begun production on our next studio album (which should be due out the first half of 2012) and are extremely excited about what’s in store. Every time one of you awesome StereoF enthusiasts gives suggestions/comments about our music; we listen (even if it looks like we aren’t listening). We’ve been considering all the different possibilities and really like where it’s heading. I can’t say too much as we want it to be a surprise and who really knows what will happen while in studio????

Some upcoming shows this month include The Pisgah Brewing Co. in Black Mountain, NC on Thursday, January 12th; The Emerald Lounge in Asheville, NC on Friday, January 20th; O’Mainnin’s in Bristol, TN on Thursday, January 26th; and The Empty Glass in Charleston, WV on Friday, January 27th.  Check out our schedule page for complete listings and details!   Finally, BIG THANKS to everyone who came to our New Year’s show at Southern Appalachian Brewery!!!!  It was a huge success and we couldn’t have done it without you!!!

‘Round magazine review of StereoF…and NYE fast approaching!

Friday, December 30th, 2011

Terrific new StereoF review in ‘Round Magazine! Yay! It makes us feel all warm and fuzzy when complete strangers say nice things about the noises we make. As the chilliness of winter creeps in, warm and fuzzy is excellent indeed. On top of that happiness, we’re getting pretty excited for our New Year’s Eve show at Southern Appalachian Brewery in Hendersonville, NC. It starts 9-ish and goes till the wee hours, complete with dinner, champagne toast, and, of course, StereoF for your ears and access to beers for your tummy. Wooo!

Five Christmas songs available for name-your-own-price download. 100% of money goes to Foothills Humane Society!

Monday, December 5th, 2011

The holiday season is rapidly approaching and Melissa & I have decided that this year is the year for giving!!! Just this morning we launched a page containing five Christmas songs that we recorded back in 2007; they are available for name-your-own-price download and 100% of the money raised goes to The Foothills Humane Society of Polk County, NC (where we rescued Ella!!!). Click HERE to access the page and we would greatly appreciate any contribution you care to make. Again, 100% of your contribution goes straight to the shelter and will be instrumental in getting food, medicine, and improve quality of life for these little shelter critters. Also, proceeds will help with advertising expenses for the shelter, arranging adoption outings, and just about anything else imaginable. So dig deep, friends, and let’s make a huge difference for a great organization!!!

I mean, can you say no to this face?

End of Fall tour! Some big regional shows coming soon and work on new album about to begin!

Tuesday, November 8th, 2011

We cannot say say thank you enough to everyone who came out in droves during our most recent Fall Tour!!! We are simply blown away by the support, enthusiasm, and momentum that we received during the tour and as we always say, we could never do this without you. YOU truly are amazing!!! We talked it over and this tour was definitely the best we’ve had yet!!!

Aside from all the awesome shows, we had some brief downtime to spend with family while on the road.  This is my little cousin…. he’s only in junior high and already has a sweet mustache:

And in case you were wondering, this is what road dogs do after chasing frisbees all over the eastern half of the US:

Work on our next full length album will begin in less than one month and the album will be ready by Spring 2012 just in time for touring season.  It is still in the embryonic phase, so, much more info to come as things develop as well as sneak peaks, etc.  Also, we have some fabulous regional shows coming up in the next month and a half; most notably we will be performing at Asheville’s newest premiere venue, The Asheville Music Hall, on Friday, November 18th with touring band Future rocK!!!!

Also have shows coming up at Warren Wilson College, Tennessee Tech University, Bristol, TN, Charlotte, NC, New Year’s Eve party at The Southern Appalachian Brewery and more!  Check out our schedule for all dates, times, and locations.  I think I’ll get back to enjoying some downtime and have a snack. Stay sexy, baby!!!

Colorado and MORE!

Saturday, October 29th, 2011

These last couple weeks have been fun, fun FUN! Colorado was full of beer, good weather, and great shows.

thanks to Christine for taking this picture!

and Chris’ thumb for taking this one…

Big thanks to Kelsey Scales for taking an HD (yes, that’s fancy!) video at our intimate Denver show…

On our way Eastward through Lincoln, NE (which was AWESOME!) Chris got his way and we stopped at his favorite, the Hi-Way Diner. So happy at the thought of Magic Toast and hash browns that he was running towards the front door…

Van-GO! (and new acoustic EP!)

Tuesday, October 18th, 2011

Happy Fall, y’all! We’re celebrating the dead leaves falling off the trees by driving around the continental US and playing music every night! (well, almost every night.)  We’ve been whooshing from state to state faster than you can say “wooooooooah, doggies!”  We started out in Indiana (see, we went through 4 states just in our first day out. No joke. Check a map.) at the Melody Inn. Always, always a good time. Then we jetted only one state up to Michigan to rock Founder’s Brewery and their gigantic beerhall. I wish I had a gigantic alcohol tolerance so that I could have tried each and every single delicious beverage that those fine folks in Grand Rapids produce. Alas. The next day had us zipping over to Madison for their Homecoming weekend to play at the Alchemy and eat stuffed grilled cheese. Then we made it to Lincoln, NE just in time to rock out as part of the Lincoln Calling festival which overtook downtown Lincoln and had us running around with our purple all-access bracelets to catch as many other shows as possible before we drank much coffee and started the trek across NE, to another time zone, and Boulder, where we created sounds that caused many semi-involuntary body movements and much sweating and beer-drinking at Mountain Sun Brewery. Phew. Then we slept a little bit.

We have been driving much and have only had a chance to take 2 tour photos, one of a trash can at a rest stop in Nebraska,

and one of a mountain lion warning sign in Boulder.

Exciting! But no, really, contrary to our lack of photographic evidence, we have been suuuuuuper busy and have exciting things to share with you! A digital pre-release of our BRAND new 5-song acoustic EP (it still smells like plastic and has the creases in it, though it’s not yet a tangible object…hmm…) is available online for pretty much name your own price (I think .40/track is the minimum though–I mean, we gotta be able to eat our McGriddles every morning on the road, you know?) at our bandcamp site: http://stereof.bandcamp.com.  We also have brand new T-shirts this tour. Yay!!! Check ‘em out at our online store (if you can’t come to a show) and buy them on your computer from the comfort of your easy chair or bathtub.

Much love and clean diesel exhaust kisses!
